JUST FINISHED.....

My Cats on Parade glass jar is flickering away and I finished my French Country Witch last night....late...cause I couldn't count and had to pull our all her hair and face and hat.  Well, I just started restitching it all and finished up around 1am.  But she is done and I really like her.  Normally stitch these French Country designs in overdyed floss but because of the busy background, I chose to do her in the suggested 3371 DMC and am very pleased with the finished piece.  Now to decide how to finish the piece.  Any suggestions?

Hard to believe 'summer' is over.  Now, since school started, it will get hot!  Hope you have a safe Labor Day Weekend and keep stitching.

Halloween Stitching

I've finished stitching my perforated Cats on Parade and sometime today, I will put it on my glass jar and turn on the tea light and watch the cats flicker.  Can't wait!

Meanwhile, got a Halloween project to stitch?  Try this cobwebby fabric....  Last night I started JBW's French Country Witch on this cobweb fabric and I think it's coming out really great.  It's easy to stitch on, 28ct,  and the design doesn't interfere with my seeing the holes.

Just arrived yesterday, as she was sold out at market, All in a Night's Work, by Cherished Stitches.  Think this is also going on my to stitch pile.  It will make a really cute pillow addition to my 'cauldron of smalls' for Halloween.

HALLOWEEN AND BLACKBIRD DESIGNS

You know me and Halloween.....I love the designs.  Cats on Parade is a new design from Blackbird Designs and I knew I wanted to do it.  Got looking around and found an idea that just kept growing.....I was going to stitch the piece on perforated paper, wrap it around a candle in a jar or get a glass container and place a battery operated tea light in it so it can 'flicker' through the design.   Been stitching on it and last night I was so close to finishing, but......I RAN OUT OF THREAD!   I couldn't believe it.  So I brought it to work today and thought I could finish it.  Haven't yet, but here's a pic of the almost finished piece.  You could do this on any design...just think 'out of the box'!

STACY NASH NEW DESIGNS FROM MARKET

Stacy Nash Primitives brings us 5 new designs.   First is Mourning Tree Sewing Bag....but just think of it as a picture.  It doesn't have to be turned into a bag.  It would be great for Halloween with the crows and coffin.  Next is Thistles & Spells Pinkeep with tombstones galore.

Pumpkin Harvest Pinkeep and Potions Sewing Pouch round out the fall and Halloween season.  Potions is calling my name and would be just a great décor item hanging off a hook for the season.  Maybe you could even keep some potions, in the form of candy, in it.

And last but not least is Whaling Ship Sewing Tray and Pinkeep.  This ship and whale would look nice in a frame, so think 'out of the box' when looking at your patterns.  Imagine how you could change the appearance.

MORE ST CHARLES GOODIES

Sorry about not posting additional pics on Sunday.  We stayed at a motel in Wisconsin that had no internet service.  Believe me we were in the 'boonies'.  Monday night we drove early to real late so we could get home to pick up my little kitty from the boarders on Tuesday so by the time we checked into a hotel in Ohio on Monday night it was past midnight.  Eyes couldn't stay open so went right to bed and got up by 7 to be on road before 8 to drive home.

So after my sob story, here are more pics.

Lizzie Kate has several new kits this year.  One is a Halloween kit, Spooky Eyes,  and she has the
Snow Dudes and Dear Rudolph.

Niky's Creations has Angel Kit with the design and floss holder included.  Country Christmas and Xmas Bags are shown and I have some of her monthly ornaments for May thru August.

This is Hannah's Brownstone, the special edition kit from Scarlett House.  I have a sufficient number of kits for those of you who pre-ordered the kit and I have 1 or 2 extra.

La D Da has several new ones out from market.  Soul Birds, shown, Serbian Proverb, Harvest House and Wee Bundle.

Witches Go Riding and Ebenezer's Christmas are from Erica Michaels.    The first is show on silk gauze and the second can be done on the gauze or cross stitched, as shown.  There are 3 sections to the Christmas chart and each could be it's own picture and one  is shown put into a box.  But you could pilliow them, make a padded hanging ornament or just frame them.  Any finishing idea would work.

Well, that's about all right now.  But, believe me, there are many more.  Just stop by and check them out.

DAY 1, ST. CHARLES MARKET

CONTINUING WITH MORE PICS OF BEAUTIFUL PIECES AT DAY 1 OF THE ST. CHARLES MARKET.  WISH YOU ALL COULD HAVE BEEN HERE, BECAUSE AS NICE AS THE PICTURES ARE ON THE CHARTS, NOTHING COMPARES TO SEEING THE CHART AND MODEL IN PERSON.  SO HERE GOES.....Chart and designer

Cherished Stitches brings us All In a Night's Work and Halloween Chronicles, both kits.  The green fabric in the latter is just so awesome combined with the stitched portion.

Harvest Keeper is from Plum Street Samplars and so is the sampler  Gathering Honey.

T.A. Smith Designs is a new designer with some very nice work.  Shown are Haunted and Noel.  Both were out of stock by the time we got to see them but they are ordered and will be in shortly.

These are the four new colors from Weeks Dye Works.  Flat Fish, Porpoise, Candy Apple and Jay Bird.

Hands on Design is a new designer to the shoppe.  Shown are her Indigo Star, which I just love,  and Everyday Sampler, shown stitched 2 ways.  I plan on doing the long narrow one.  Several other charts from her will be coming home with me...Wreath House , Twice Blessed and Pomegranate Pocket & Pin.

The Nebby Needle gives A Handful of Love.  I just love the pillow with the hand and will probably have to stitch it.

Retromantic Fripperies provide stitching aids with a very unique look.  Shown are  Mr. Moon and Raven.  Use them as a floss palette or even just a fob.  We also have several other designs from them.  I just liked the Halloween ones.

NeedleWorkPress presents Glad Tidings, a cute standup, Ellen Harrison 1889 and Harmony.  This last one is stitched with Gentle Art wool threads, but you could easily stitch it with their cotton overdyed floss.

Homespun Elegance presents Hospitality of Christmas and Witch Inn.  I just deleted the Halloween pic in error so I guess you'll have to stop in to check it out.

There are many more charts coming home with me as we start on our way home Monday.  We are taking a side trip up to Wisconsin on Sunday and will be starting home some time Monday afternoon.  We will finish shopping Sunday morning, check out of the hotel by noon and finish shopping if needed and then drive north.  Check out a couple of country shops and quilt shoppes on Monday, then start for home.  Will post more pics sometime Sunday, so stay tuned.  See you next week!

Oh, by the way for those of you signed up for the October retreat, Stitching in the Park, I've  got some surprises for you!  Good night.

MORE PICS FROM MARKET

From Lone Elm comes Halloween Resurrection.....another must stitch for me.  Lizzie Kate is giving us Spooky Eyes and Dear Rudolph, a kit.

Summer House Stitche Werks is offering Liberty Starlet, a limited edition kit for a pincushion in a zinc jar lid, which is  included in the kit.  I have 3 available , so let me know if you want one.

Next is Stacy Nash... Pumpkin Harvest Pinkeep.

Plum Street Samplers has added another 'wiener' chart for Turkey Day....isn't it  just so cute!  Gathering Honey is a new sampler.  And last but not least is Penny Pumpkin from the Scarlett House .

These are just a few of what's new at Market!

WTNT NEW FROM MARKET

Brenda Gervais, With Thy Needle and Thread (WTNT), has several new designs here at market.

Boo & Baa-bbie has a sheep pulling a pumpkin cart filled with 3-D wool black eyed susans.  And the squirrels are gathering food in Acorn Gathering Sewing Roll.

Christmas Cottage shows a room in a house all decked out for Santa.  A sampler over the mantle, stockings hanging waiting to be filled, mini wooly Putz sheep and sisal trees, a new doll chair and pull toy for the good children in the family.

Hallow-day Inn offers a house with witches, a pumpkin filled cauldron with owl.  Gardener Goode Witch is in her garden with sunflowers and pumpkins.  This is made into a long skinny pillow.

Blue Bunting and Summer Saltbox are charts created to be stitched in the Tim Holtz pocket watches. I just love the saltbox house and here's another to be stitched going into my pile.  These 2 charts are already in the shop, and I expect to pick up the others tomorrow at Market and bring them home.  If you see something you just can't live without, email me or leave a message on facebook and I'll get you one.  Time to go to bed so I'm all fresh and ready for the long shopping day Saturday.
