Alternative finishing idea for BBD's Cats on Parade on perforated paper. I laced it on at the back of the jar and put in a mini string of lights. Wanted to have it flicker so I need to get another string that does flicker, but I'm very pleased with the results.

NEW FROM THE SCARLETT HOUSE AND OTHERS
I love White Pumpkins and The Scarlett House has put out Penny Pumpkin and a regular pumpkin called Pumpkins & Bittersweet. I think both of these are on my 'to do' list.
Homespun Elegance has 3 new ornament charts just released this year: Olde Saint Nicholas, Merry Christmas Wishes and Snowmen Everywhere. The colors just don't show up really good in these pics. They are much more colorful.
Scissortail Designs just released her Snowflake Ornaments. They complement her Snowflake Tree.
Lastly, Amaryllis Needleworks has brought out another beauty...The Quaker Keeper.

DRAWN THREAD HALLOWEEN CHARTS
They've finally arrived.....
Now you've seen it all....a skeleton Chillin'! Isn't he something? You get charts to do the picture as shown, make it into a pocket and 2 tags or fobs with skeletons.
Full Moon with crows flying over a full moon makes into a pincushion, box top or 2 fobs/ornies...one with a pumpkin and crows and the other shown...just one crow. More ornies to add to my Halloween tree.
Last, is Haunting Halloween. Stitch the piece and frame or create a pincushion/pillow and 2 designs are given for a fob/ornies.
Which one are you going to stitch?

T.A. SMITH DESIGNS
T.A. Smith Designs is a new designer I found at one of my distributors at the St. Charles Market. She hadn't sent many charts with my distributor and by the time I got to his room, they were all gone but the samples. I fell in love with a couple of them and I placed an order. They have just arrived....and here they are:
Motif Musings is cute and right up my alley. I do love motifs on samplers. This is stitched over 1 thread and is very long. Done on 28ct, it would be 23 inches long. On 40ct, over 2, it would be 32". Guess I'll have to find a higher count fabric!
Haunting was stitched over 1, but over 2 on 28 count, it would measure 18"...not bad.
I fell in love with the little Noel pillow. It definitely is a must do for me. Stitched over 1 or 2, they would be really cute.
And lastly, is Mini Motifs. Yep, you guessed it, another small pillow for me to stitch. Guess I'm beginning to like instant gratification.

STITCH IN THE PARK...A ONE DAY RETREAT
October 19, 2014...reserve the date and your seat for our one day retreat....Stitching in the Park.
We will stitch at the Old Mill House on Plank Road, Schwenksville, part of the Central Perkiomen Valley Park, about 3 miles from the shoppe. The Old Mill House was built around 1901 as a turn of the century summer retreat, on the site of an old grist mill that was dated back to the 1760's. Recently remodeled, we will have a stitching room and an enclosed porch where we will enjoy our meal as we view the fall foliage along the Perkiomen Creek.
You can bring a project to stitch, but you will be receiving projects to stitch and some will learn a new finishing technique. We will stitch, play games, door prizes, have lots of fun and of course, there will be food!
Reserve your seat today as we are limited to the number of people that can attend by the Park System. Count on having lots of fun with fellow stitchers. The doors will open at 11 and we'll get down to business around 11:30 and keep having fun till 6pm. The fee is $50.00 and cash, check or credit card will be accepted when you make your reservation. It has been several years since we had our last Stitching in the Park but we've always had lots of fun, so call and reserve your seat today. September 12 is the deadline for reservations. Email or call 215.513.9373.
