Just arrived from Homespun Elegance are two new pouches...a new, quick and easy way to finish your design.
Peace To Ewe and
Sunflower Fair are both stitched on 20ct WDW over-dyed linen, Kudzu. You are stitching over 2 threads so the finished count is 10 stitches to the inch...an easy stitch. The designs are not complicated so they should finish up quick and easy. To assemble the pouch, you will blanket stitch the 2 sides and bottom to a piece of wool or felt, add a strip of fabric for the hanger and you are done. The buttons used across the bottom come from your button stash. Fill them with whatever you have in your stash and hang them anywhere, even a door, as they finish out at about 4x7. We have our free stitch night tonight from 6:30 to 8:30 and I'm going to start
Sunflower Fair. I've got the perfect sunflower to put in it and I'll find some dried flowers to go with it. If you don't want to use the 20ct Kudzu, how about using a 10ct fabric or even jute.
Also just arrived are Esther Syer 1796 from Plum Street Samplers, Summer Harvest from Blackbird Designs, #11 in this years Loose Feathers series, and Grand Old Flag from Rosewood Manor. For those of you who are older, the verse in this chart is from the song of the same name by George M. Cohan and was in the movie, Yankee Doodle Dandy. The last chart, Sweet Land should be in soon.
