PEACE TO EWE AND......

Just arrived from Homespun Elegance are two new pouches...a new, quick and easy way to finish your design.   Peace To Ewe and Sunflower Fair are both stitched on 20ct WDW over-dyed linen, Kudzu.  You are stitching over 2 threads so the finished count is 10 stitches to the inch...an easy stitch.  The designs are not complicated so they should finish up quick and easy.  To assemble the pouch, you will blanket stitch the 2 sides and bottom to a piece of  wool or felt, add a strip of fabric for the hanger and you are done.  The buttons used across the bottom come from your button stash.  Fill them with whatever you have in your stash and hang them anywhere, even a door, as they finish out at about 4x7.  We have our free stitch night tonight from 6:30 to 8:30 and I'm going to start
Sunflower Fair.  I've got the perfect sunflower to put in it and I'll find some dried flowers to go with it.  If you don't want to use the 20ct Kudzu, how about using a 10ct fabric or even jute.

Also just arrived are Esther Syer 1796 from Plum Street Samplers, Summer Harvest from Blackbird Designs, #11 in this years Loose Feathers series, and Grand Old Flag from Rosewood Manor.  For those of you who are older, the verse in this chart is from the song of the same name by George M. Cohan and was in the movie, Yankee Doodle Dandy.  The last chart, Sweet Land should be in soon.

SUN, MOON AND STARS....ARE HERE!

Littlehouse Needleworks trio Sun, Moon and Stars has arrived.  Parts 1 and 2, Over the Moon and Beneath the Stars are here, with Under the Sun to be released in July.   It's a kit that contains chart and Classic Colorworks  threads (previously known as Crescent Colours).  Just add a piece of fabric of your choice (30ct Creek Bed Brown from R&R or 30ct Northern Cross natural are recommended) and start stitching this cute chart.  It's a great take-along  for those picnics and baseball games that are coming up.  It becomes a great gift for someone special or just yourself.

NEW RELEASES!

Continuing with the months, Cricket brings us May and June!

Homespun Elegance brings us Uncle Sam Crow..Needle Case.  But, I'm doing him and he won't be a needlecase.  Not sure if he will be a pillow or a flat stand up.  Also new this month is Still Stitching- Still Friends.

Louise and Henry are here from Little House Needleworks along with Freedom House.  Both are cute and definite possibilities for my 'pile'.  She also released another in the Hometown Holiday series, Town Church.  This is on order and will be here soon.

Summerhouse Stitcheworks is bringing us Fragments in Time...little sampler snippets.  Since these are 1 and 2 I guess we might see more in the future.  They are great little designs that you can do so much with....a pillow, a picture, a needlebook, whatever you want.  They stitch up really fast on a 28ct fabric, as they are 50x50,  and she uses some of her favorite Gentle Art colors.  Check them out.  If we see more, might they make their own little sampler?

Coming from Stoney Creek, we have Flowers for Every Season and Frosty Friend Blocks.  These would make a nice framed piece, but how about a pillow?

STASH TO TREASURE SALE

Our Annual STASH TO TREASURE SALE will be held Saturday May 24, 2014 so I hope you have that date circled on your calendar.  You've got to attend.  We collect cross stitch charts and supplies people no longer want and we showcase it and our shop visitors check out the STASH and find a new TREASURE to take home with a cash or check donation for St. Jude Children's Hospital.

Don't  assume the STASH is just 'junk'!  We've gotten in some very nice charts, kits and fabric this year.  Today, alone,  we've gotten in 4 boxes of charts and a lot of nice linen and some aida pieces.  We've sorted through most of the goodies that has arrived and  I know we will have a $5.00 minimum donation box full of charts with  appropriate fabric...all you need to do is add the floss.

Come check us out.  You may be surprised at what  you find.  Just remember, all donations MUST be made either by cash or check, so you might want to hit up the ATM before you come.  We do have a WAWA with a no-fee ATM about 2 miles away if you need cash.  It is located at the junction of routes 73 and 113, just south of the shop.

We will be open Saturday from 10-3.  Everything in the shop will be on sale that day with a 15% discount on all regular priced items.  Special orders will be accepted but will not receive the discount.  Frequent Buyer cards will not be punched or redeemed on Saturday.

SEE YOU SATURDAY!
