Hi, Everyone. Finally a relatively nice day. It's been pretty chilly lately and I'm tired of it. I don't like really hot days, but I'd like my house to have a temperature in the high 60's and not the 59 degrees it had yesterday. Even my cats, with their fur coats, have been cold and very pesty about laying on you and getting warm.

Just wanted to remind you that I'm still accepting 'Stash' for our Stash to Treasure Sale on Saturday May 29. I've gotten in quite a bit and I think you'll be in for a surprise. A little peak will offer Shepherds Bush charts and kits, some with fabrics and fibers, ceramic doll kits, Heart's Content kits and other sampler charts, some all personally kitted with fibers and fabrics and I even have quite a selection of the Silver Needle Secret Needle Night kits from 2005, 2007, 2008 and 2009. I'll be able to tell you more, later, after we've restocked the donations into boxes for the big day. We have some fabrics too. One fabric cut is a piece of white damask that would make a great tablecloth.

I've got in some new charts from our local designer, Lila's Studio. I really like the floral one.

Fraktur Bird II and the Sister's Sampler are really nice, too. Come in and check them out.

Hi Stitchers....If you just received an email from me, here's a picture of the Blessed are the Piece/Peace Makers Quilt being offered here at Just Cross Stitch. Eileen Gurak is the designer from Handblessings and this is her promo for this year. The patterns are free! The fabric used is 28 Jobelan Lambswool. To me the fabric has too much of a sheen and the color is a little flat, so I used a Lambswool linen fabric in 32 count (also available in 28; plus we have a 16 count aida in a nice Lambswool color). The border is a Threadworx multi-colored overdye and 5 Weeks Dye Works colors are used: Emerald, Tiger's Eye, Father's Day, Lancaster Red and Blue Spruce. We currently have the border and the first 6 blocks available. Call now, or email me, to sign up for this 2010 Promo.

Hey, how's this - two postings in one day. Forgot something very important. Memorial Day Porch sale. First off, we have a new name for this sale to benefit St. Jude's Childrens Hospital. I got some suggestions from my readers but nothing jumped out at me. Several days after the 'contest' deadline, Joanne, who works occasionally in the shop, gave me a suggestion that hit me. The new name is.......STASH TO TREAURE DAY!

The sale will be Saturday May 29, 2010 and run from 10-4. All donations received will be sent to St. Jude's Children's Hospital. But first, I NEED Stash to be donated. Please drop off your donations now! We will set them up on a table in the front of the shop, since I no longer have a porch. We will segregate it somehow that you know exactly what is the Stash.

Running Tuesday thru Saturday, May 25-29, we will have a Memorial Day Event, offering 20% off all shop inventory. We will have a few stitched pieces available for purchase this week. These were intended for shop samples, were stitched but never framed. It's time to weed them out and find good homes for them.

Well, once again, that's all. Talk later.

Hi! How are you doing? Hope you've been stitching. And have I got some new designs for you! The above pictures are the new Cross Eyed Cricket charts that just arrived this morning. I'm itching to do the Peas & Q's, it so reminds me of a Quaker style sampler. The Picture Perfect looks really interesting to try. You mount your photo on mat board and attach to the top of the fabric then mount in the frame. Celebrate America is also calling to me - probably because of the red, white and blue theme. Summer is bright and colorful and is done on a purple fabric.

JBW Designs just sent us two collections, available only through JBW, so you'll see them here first. The Bunny Collection is a set of five designs, with a number of layouts. You could do one bunny as a birth sampler with a name and date; two bunnies could be placed side by side for twins; a collection of 3 bunnies, side by side, would just make a nice picture; 4 bunnies would make a great pillow. You have a great deal of variety with this chart. Fall Ornamentals contains 12 separate small designs that could be stitched individually or use 4 designs within the acorn border and finish as a standup easel. A charm pack accompanies Fall Ornamentals. The entire collection is similar to her 12 Days of Christmas.

Little House Needleworks has issued the next in their ornament series - Red House in Winter. It looks so vibrant that I had to start it last night. The house is done in Crescent Bing Cherry and is real rich. All other colors are DMC. (One of these days, I swear, I will get the hang of putting in pictures!!!!!)
Just got word yesterday, that Blackbird Designs has gotten their act together and the last Loose Feathers should be showing up by late May! YES!!!!
Guess that's all for now. I've seen some other charts that are nice and as soon as they arrive, I'll give you a peek at them. For now, keep stitching!!!

Hi, fellow stitchers....

Rain, rain, go away!!!!!!!! It's terrible today. And on this depressing day, I've just read some depressing news. Carriage House Samplings is giving up designing. Go check out her blog at www.carriagehousesamplings.blogspot.com. If you want any of her charts, order them now! We will only be able to get her charts thru June 30th. So, if you've been thinking about any of her charts or to fill in a missing Hawk Run Hollow chart, decide now and order. She doesn't say what she is going to be doing, but I know she's really into her jewelry these days and I guess she prefers designing jewelry to her cross stitch patterns.

Lizzie Kate auto is to ship tomorrow, so we might have the new charts in the shop this week, or certainly by Tuesday, next week. A new giggle boxer, Dog Lessons for People and the last of the green flip-its are due out.

Don't forget, I will not be open Easter Sunday, but will be here on Sunday April 11, from 11-2.

Have a good Easter.

May be back tomorrow or Thursday when new charts are arriving.

Take Care and keep stitching.

Carolyn

Hi! How's the weather going for you? It's been beautiful!!!! But, I don't trust Mother Nature. I believe she's going to get us at least one more time this year. Hope I'm wrong!

We've been getting some new things in the shop since market. New charts are still coming out. Little House Needleworks has two new charts out - her new Monthly ornament #5, Winter Sheep should be in the shop today. Her new chart Robin Hood is just out and ordered. But note, there are 2 mistakes in the chart, both spelling mistakes: Sheriff is spelled on the chart with 2 r's and she tells you to just delete the one r and keep stitching; Lady Marian is actually spelled with two a's and she uses an o , so just replace the o with an a and you'll be okay.

Country Cottage Needleworks is putting out The Book Store and it's a cute blue house.

We've just gotten in a new stitching 'toy' that's neat. It's a Mini-Clip Magnifier Light. A 3.5 inch diameter magnifying lens with 2.25x magnification (5-diopter). The 7 inch flexible arm allows you to find a comfortable working position and the spring clamp is great for easy attachment to a table or frame. There is a double LED light and the 3 batteries are included. A great buy for under $21.00. This magnifier is also great for hobbies and crafts and electronics, not just for needlework.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: WE WILL BE CLOSED EASTER SUNDAY, THE FIRST SUNDAY OF THE MONTH. WE WILL BE OPEN SUNDAY APRIL 11 FROM 11-2. COME CHECK US OUT.

Don't forget to start packing up that unwanted needlework stash for our Memorial Day Weekend Porch Sale, proceeds go to St. Jude's Children's Hospital. You can start dropping off your items anytime after April 15. I've had a lot of calls so I'm hoping we get a lot of good stuff. Thanks for your support in donations, both stash and cash.

Keep stitching...

Carolyn

Hey, Stitchers! It's been a while. I got behind trying to get ready to go to market and I'm just starting to dig myself out. I really feel behind the eight ball. But now that the weather's been so nice, I'm starting to feel better. I had no trouble with my trip to Nashville. Saw snow all the way till I was west of Knoxville. But the roads were all dry, with no snow near them. I didn't even hit any rain. Someone was looking out for me on my trip. Brought back some new fabrics and of course new charts and kits. Here are a desciption of a few.

CherryWood Design Studio has a nice chart - A Stitcher's Story, talking about the stitches we've learned, who taught them to us and the fact that we plan to teach them to others. Chessie and Me has a kit called Chessie's Fern, a scissor fob and a pincushion. They would make a cute pillow and could even be framed. Miss Chessie's Tuffet is a kitty scissor fob and a larger biscornu. Strawerry Banke is her new sampler. Keslyn's new pattern ow or on the side of your stitching bag - My Day Complete. A design done all in one varigated color, stating "I cannot count my day complete till needle thread and fabric meet". We've another design from her, Blush.

Island Cottage NeedleArts gives us Harvest Moon, a saltbox house under a crescent moon and a big black crow. I've Got My Love to Keep Me Warm, done in black and red is a large sampler from Heartstring Samplery. Jenny Bean is still designing (Shakespeare's Peddler) and gives us the Humble Servant Sampler. We have a Gentle Art Thread Pack for this chart.

Jeannette Douglas has given us the Autumn and the Spring Biscornu Stackers. A set of 3 mini biscornus, stacked and tied together. They are really cute. Sue Hillis continues her line of pirates with Shiver Me Timbers - a pirate snowman chart and a post stitch chart - Burned to Perfection, which has a barbecue grill charm.

Lizzie Kate has come out with the ABC's of Aging Gracefully. She tells us we must Gather friends, Ignore convention, Mend fences, Spoil babies, Volunteer and many more - 26 in all.
She just let us know that the next 3 Green flip-its, a new Giggle boxer and Dog Lessons for People will be mailed on 3/31. The following auto will offer a 2010 Christmas Rules DoubleFlip series and the ABC's of Halloween. She is good at teasing us about what's coming.

Erica Michaels has a new chart Time & Seasons. We look through a 4 pane window to a scene outside with flowers, animals and a tree. However, each of the panes shows the scene in a different season. It's really cute and would look done on 28ct fabric.

Well gotta go. This program today is giving me a problem. First it won't save and I have to retype half of it and then it published the post before I wanted it to.

Oh My Technology!!!!!!!

Keep Stitching!
